The Centurion rotary arm swing
gate operators (R3, R5 and Maxi-Mate)
are the logical choice for most swing gates. The wide arc of operation combined
with inherent soft acceleration and deceleration provide swift opening and
closing of the gate. The R3 rotary arm swing gate operator remains the logical
choice for applications where the gate pillar is very wide and will not
accommodate the VECTOR2 linear drive system. It can handle domestic gates up to
3.5m wide per leaf weighing no more than 150kg.
The R3 also offers battery
back-up. The electronic controller and power supply are mounted in the master
motor giving the
option to wall mount the operators, resulting in an installation that is
greatly simplified. As with all centurion
gate controllers, the R3 offer a wide range of useful features.
As with the sliding gate range of operators, this battery driven swing gate operator can also be adapted to operate off a solar power supply.

The operators are powered by a high torque geared DC motor coupled to a high strength worm- reduction gearbox. The systems use a 12V maintenance free battery as the primary power source. The battery is charged via a mains electricity supply or solar panel. Wall mounting operators are available for mounting directly to the gate support pillar, referred to as wall mounting, or onto a steel post positioned forward of the gate, referred to as pedestal mounting. The R3 is reliable workhorse for domestic swing gates. And the R5 is physically the same size package as the R3, the R5 incorporates a stronger DC motor for large domestic and light industrial swing gates.
